Description
Returns the x-based logarithm of y.
Result type: DOUBLE PRECISION
Syntax
LOG (x, y)
- If either argument is
0or below, an error is raised. (Before 2.5, this would result inNaN,±INFor0, depending on the exact values of the arguments.) - If both arguments are
1,NaNis returned. - If
x = 1andy < 1,-INFis returned. - If
x = 1andy > 1,INFis returned.
Important: If the external function LOG is declared in your database, it will override the internal function. To make the internal function available, DROP or ALTER the external function (UDF).
