In order to start working and developing with IBExpert, it is necessary to take the following steps:

1. Download and install Firebird (Open Source database). Alternatively you may also, of course, install InterBase®.
2. Download and install IBExpert? (Personal or Customer edition)
3. Setting up IBExpert:
   1. Specifying the user interface: MDI or SDI?
   2. Changing language
   3. Setting up the IBExpert User Database
4. Registering a database (the example uses the EMPLOYEE database supplied with Firebird and InterBase^®)
5. Working with a database (based on the EMPLOYEE sample database).
6. IBExpert Screen: get acquainted with IBExpert and how it's set up.
