This course is aimed at all those just starting out with Firebird development, or those currently considering the use of Firebird in a future project and would first like to get to know the database in more detail. Also includes what’s new for developers in Firebird 3.0.

Find out how to develop a data model and create your first database including data types, constraints and keys. You will learn how to create a new database, which database objects are available and which, subject to their properties, should be used. You will then go on to create tables, learn the importance of primary keys, foreign keys, foreign key options, indices and the effect of not using primary keys and foreign keys. We will then take a closer look at data types and generate additional test data to better understand and illustrate the significance of dependencies. At this stage you will be able to compare the different data models with each another. The use of views, stored procedures and triggers almost completes the day, but we will still take time to have a quick look at new features and major changes for database developers in Firebird 3.0.

At the end of the day there is ample time to answer any questions.

Terms and conditions

The workshop is subject to the VAT/sales tax applicable in the country where it is taking place. The participation fee is payable immediately upon receipt of invoice. Participation is possible only if payment has been received in full before the workshop begins. Workshop participation can be canceled up until 03.01.2014.

In case of cancellation, the organiser will levy a cancellation fee of EUR 50 per person per day excluding VAT. After this date, it is no longer possible to cancel and the workshop fee must be paid in full.

The organizer reserves the right to make changes to the training program for organisational or other reasons. Payments will be refunded if the workshop has to be canceled by the organizer. Further legal claims against the organizers are explicitly excluded.
